For two days I tried to extinguish a tiny blue flame. The pilot light in my fireplace refused to go out.
Before my trip to Malta, I could switch it off, but upon my return the gosh darn thing just would not turn off!
Frustration turned into anger, then exhaustion and then tears! It's funny how little things can sometimes trigger something bigger within and deliver a profound message. I noted that throughout my life I've experienced a lot of frustration. The greatest frustration has been around feeling unseen. And when I look at myself from a bird's eye view, I notice that I am the one making myself unseen. My actions are the source of my despair. That's the beauty about growing up. After processing trauma and alchemising it, I am responsible for my own happiness and fullfillment. Watching myself furiously trying to blow out the flame, I'm humoured at this scene.
Without the pilot light how can more flames ignite? Bring light, bring joy, bring warmth. No more extinguishing my flame. Of course practically, I'll get the switch seen to! Fire hazard! Hello! But internally,… let that little light shine.
